We’re overdue for an update from the WordPress.tv Moderator team, so here I am to tell you we have been busy behind the scenes. For the most part, we have been making preparations for the Get Involved launch, so here’s the scoop:
Week 9
- Completed work on submission guidelines for the public uploader.
- Onboarded a new moderator for Italian/French WordPress videos.
- Updating “featured” videos on the WordPress.tv home page. No more vids being stuck up there for months; we want this part of the site to be updated frequently to reflect current awesome videos that we just watched for you!
- Minor tweaks to the WordCamp.tv page widgets to improve browsing. WordCamp feed (below featured videos) is now updated so browsing all the videos from recent WordCamps is easier.
Week 10
- Talked about how to best handle and classify meetup videos as a class.
- Welcome new mod Jason Tucker, who brings killer video experience to our team.
- Discussed release forms for Meetup presenters.
- Initiative to add better post-production docs (to help WC orgs and other content submitters) to improve the quality of content on wp.tv.
- Discovered we might have a wp.tv Twitter account (why not!) and maybe how we could use it better.
Next Week – WordPress.tv Needs You!
- New “Get Involved” features on wp.tv for video submissions, captioning, and becoming a moderator. (Hint: Being a mod is great fun!)
- More improvements to our “How to be a mod” docs.
- The only constant is change…
