Block Themes Stats

  • 8 Block themes are live in past 7 days
  • 3 Block themes are currently reviewing
  • We have 106 Block Themes in the themes repository.

2. Pattern Previews for Themes in the Directory

Brand new pattern preview has been added on the theme directory! Users can check out the patterns before downloading the themes. Both classic and block themes can showcase the patterns on the theme directory.

There are several discussions for improving the pattern preview. Any feedback are appreciated.

3. Open Floor

@joyously suggested removing themes that  cause a fatal error and are no longer compatible. The theme review team will coordinate with the meta team on the following points.

  1. Find all the themes with the errors
  2. Send bulk message to them to fix the errors
  3. Give 1 month time to fix them
  4. Check themes again after 1 month
  5. Delist the theme with errors

We discussed the Requires at least requirement. The Requires at least is required in the Stylesheet header, however  it is unclear if a theme need to be compatible 2-3 versions back at the time of initial release or when the theme was updated.

We also discussed how hosting Google Fonts locally affect the theme requirements. You can read the whole thread here.

Thank you for participating @colorful-tones @mikachan @poena and @joyously
