This week we started of with a quick merge updated and we are pleased to say that we are at the stage where people should dive in and start testing. Next we talked about menu management and whether on not the current patchpatch A special text file that describes changes to code, by identifying the files and lines which are added, removed, and altered. It may also be referred to as a diff. A patch can be applied to a codebase for testing. was making the process too complex and we would be better to spend more time reviewing the best existing plugins for ideas. This led to quite a long discussion about the minimum feature set and how the ui should work.
We then had a quick status update on coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. plugins, in particular the infrastructure improvements.
We then talked about the possibility of a core contributor meetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through https://www.meetup.com/. A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on meetup.com will help you find options in your area. around the time of WCSF which seemed like a popular idea.
At the end of the meeting Jane gave us an update on the improvements to the ideas forum which include categories and making it easier to mark threads as closed.
