@atachibana has recently brushed up some articles he is in charge of and has done further changes to his helphub-codex-other-language-links plugin.
Design Updates
A discussion regarding the feedback/comment box and the voting functionality. We arrived at a direction but have not made a decision. The decision will be made pending a wireframe by @greensteph
- There will definitely be a comment box for free text if an user down-votes an article. We want to know why the article did not help them. The end goal is to help improve the articles.
- In order to make replies more standardised and possibly path the road towards automation, the comment box may be preceded by a dropdown with pre-defined replies
- Possible automations (now or in the future) can be made in such a way that multiple down votes or similar pre-defined replies will trigger a flag. We’re concerned that the comment/feedback box may become unwatched and/or unmanageable.
@greensteph is working on expanding the style guide
Development Updates
@carlalberto will be working on the Table of Contents functionality (at time of writing, Carl has already submitted a pull request)
Project Discussions
@Kenshino pointed out that we should not end up having a URL such as wordpress.org/support/articles/wordpress-development/wordpress-cookies; our use of article titles, slugs and terms need to be revised. We’re afterall on WordPress.org and can do without repeating WordPress so many times.
There is also an excessive use of terms in the article categories taxonomy. We originally started out with 6 but somehow have 31 or so categories right now.
As we reached the 1 hour mark, we have postponed the rest of the discussions to the next meeting 16 August.
