General Update
Leads had a Zoom meeting Jan 29 to touch base, chat better than we can on Slack and see each others’ faces.
@paaljoachim suggested it would be nice to do a group meeting for the whole team. @amethystanswers will arrange this.
Group Check-Ins
@paaljoachim as updated triage instructions used for triaging in Core
@annezazu launched How to do triage on GitHub on Learn WordPress and is working on How to use GitHub. Also working on adding a welcome message for new contributors on GitHub
@tacoverdo proposed in Trello separating the New Contributor Onboarding Experience group into two groups with different focuses: event-based (typically historically in-person, meetups, WordCamps, Contributor Days) and self-guided (online, through forums, Trac, Twiiter, Make), and suggested our initial efforts target the self-guided (online) group. There was some good conversation, and all participants were in favour of the decision.

We started discussing and determining achievable short-term goals for each group.
Onboarding Experience
Goal: Getting data on where/how people first interact with the WP community.
Target date: May 1
Event Best Practices
Goal: Reach out to 5-10 CD organizers
Target date: April 1
Contributor Handbook
We ran out of time, so this will be discussed at the next meeting.
