Recap of April 26, 2016 Meeting

Slack Log (Requires Slack login to view. Set one up if you don’t have a Slack account)

  1. Welcome
    1. Welcome to @babssaul who joined the meeting today!
  2. Updates on all in-progress lesson plans
    1. @toniaslimm is about halfway through the Keeping WordPress Secure lesson plan
    2. @bethsoderberg wrote up the needs for the Speaker Workshop. Please read and comment on the P2 post if you’re interested in helping with any of the pieces!
    3. @chanthaboune and @melindahelt ran into an issue with hosting accounts – there were too many uses of the fake credit card information from the same IP, so @chanthaboune is working with Bluehost to try and find a solution.
    4. @chanthaboune gave the team a heads up that there will be an intern working on Outreach stuff this summer who may pop over into training to take a look at a few of our lessons and either do some final tidying on existing things or help us get a nice, organized template for use.
  3. Copyediting updates
    1. @skarjune is working on copy editing some of the user lesson plans as he’s prepping for the upcoming workshops in Minneapolis.
    2. @coachwp and @bethsoderberg connected on the General History plan and copyedits will be finished this week.
    3. @skarjune will copyedit the content Editor Overview and User Management plans this week.
    4. @babssaul will take a look at the Managing Media plan to see what can be added in terms of image management. The group noted needs in terms of covering uploading images, image sizes and how the thumbnail/small/medium/large size works, and featured images.
  4. Quarterly Lesson Plan Amnesty Drive
    1. About once a quarter we go through and make sure that all of the lesson plans that are currently listed as having an author really do have an author. If you have a lesson plan listed in this list, it’s simply because we have noted that you are working on the plan if you no longer can/want to, that is OK – we just want to know! Please ping @bethsoderberg on Slack to either confirm your assignment or return it to the pile.
  5. Question time
    1. Some folks will be at WordCamp Chicago and WordCamp Buffalo this coming weekend!
