1. Welcome
2. Lesson Plan Updates
- @bethsoderberg will work on troubleshooting workshop plans at WCNYC contributor day. If you have any additional feedback, please share in the next 3 weeks at https://make.wordpress.org/training/2016/06/07/troubleshooting-workshop-outline/
- @toniaslimm finished Creating Your WordPress talk
- @melindahelt will finish parent plan for “Managing Spam on a Site” by July 1 so that the team can review and use as a template for other parent plans during contributor days
3. Copyediting Updates
- Creating Your WordPress talk is ready for copyediting. Please ping @bethsoderberg if you have time to copy edit this plan
4. Testing Updates
- No Updates
5. Meeting Times?
- We reviewed replies on https://make.wordpress.org/training/2016/06/09/do-we-want-to-change-our-meeting-time/ and most folks are flexible, but it was clear that we should not meet on weekends. In oder to work around a few schedules, @bethsoderberg suggested that we move the meetings to 3 p.m. EST on Tuesdays (2 hours later than current times). @melindahelt suggested if we adopt the new time that we should revisit again closer to daylight savings time change in November. @bethsoderberg will update P2 with this information
- @melindahelt will look at meeting times of other teams and note any conflicts in P2 post.
5. Upcoming Contributor Days
- @bethsoderberg will attend WCNYC Contributor Day
- @melindahelt and @chmchm may attend WordCamp Columbus Contributor Day, if it’s happening.
- Priority for summer contributor days will be to give attention and TLC to the troubleshooting workshop and to assign/complete the lesson plans from the Theme Workshop:
- Basic Theme Configuration
- How to Find Theme-Specific Documentation
- Font Management
- Customizer: CSS Changes
- Customizer: Taglines
- Customizer: Static Front Page vs. Content Feed
- Customizer: Site Icons and Logos
- Customizer: Header and Background Images
- Customizer: Menus
- @melindahelt suggested that team members have a chance to return a lesson plan to the pool prior to a contributor day, so that new contributors have something they can work on right away. If the plan is not selected during a contributor day, then the original author continues to work on the plan. No one has to give up their plans, but this was a suggestion to distribute the load and have new people focus on priority plans. We will discuss in detail prior to WCNCY and decide if we want to go in this direction.
