The 5.2 iOS app beta features a new media picker. Here’s a run through the picker uploading a single video to a wordpress.com hosted blog with an iPhone 6+.

- Tap the app icon and open to the last page used. Tap pencil icon in the toolbar.

- Tap the title field, add a title, and then tap the editor.

- Here’s the media picker. Scroll up to find the video.

- After tapping the video, a quick animation follows that I didn’t catch. Then the media picker scrolls back down to the end of the list. At this point, I wasn’t sure the video was properly selected. Tap Done.

- The video plays within the editor. Looks good. Tap the preview (eye) icon.

- wordpress.com still uses a wpvideo shortcode, rendering the preview here less useful than previewing in the editor. I think a video posted to a core site might preview better. Todo: verify that. Tap Back.

- Type in a tag. Tap Back.

- A post published notification flashes up and then disappears. I land back where I was when I entered the editor. Nice. Tap View Site to check out the new post in the context of the front page.

- The page takes a moment to load.

- The video also takes a moment to load.

- There it is. Note that the file name is used as a title overlay on wordpress.com hosted sites. The title is not editable from the app. You’re stuck with the file name. Tap the play overlay.

- The video pops up full-width and plays. Tap Done.
