This is the process the Polyglots Leadership team uses to create new locale team site on requests by users. To request a new team site, please post a request on https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots.
Add new Team O2
To create a new Team O2 go to:
- The Global Site Network > Add New
- Enter the associated subdomain of the locale in the URL field
- Enter a site title (native locale name + “Team”)
- Enter the default wordpress.org email address for Admin Email (
[email protected]) - Select “Is the site a Rosetta Team site?”
Add Team Editors
For new sites the current editors and locale manages are automatically added as editors.
Go to the dashboard of the new site:
- Go to Add Users
- Add both users as Subscriber
- Select the checkbox for not sending a confirmation email
- Go to the Users list table
- Select both users
- Use the “Change forum role to…” dropdown above the table to promote both as editors
Add the Handbook
New team sites have the handbook and its settings enabled by default.
(change fr-be to the correct Rosetta)
- Activate the ‘Handbook’ plugin: https://fr-be.wordpress.org/team/wp-admin/plugins.php
- Create and publish a new page: https://fr-be.wordpress.org/team/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=handbook
(Just a title like ‘Handbook’ is sufficient) - Flush the permalinks: https://fr-be.wordpress.org/team/wp-admin/options-permalink.php and ‘Save’
- Visit https://fr-be.wordpress.org/team/wp-admin/widgets.php and add under the ‘Handbook Sidebar’ the following 2 widgets:
- Search
- Handbook Pages
- In the ‘Handbook Pages’ widget, tick the last box ‘List the home page’ and click ‘Save’ in that widget.
