WordPress.org social media updates
- WordPress had an adjustment week this week with 658 new followers. Performance overall was really good, and over 9K engagement is quite high when we were hitting 7K earlier this year. Twitter did see us lose some followers as some users continue to leave the platform for other social media platforms. This is expected, however, and we are starting to see real growth in other platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
The overall performance during the week came from the WP 6.2 campaign as well as WP20. These campaigns ended up with all 3 of the top 3 posts for the week, as excitement builds for the release and has garnered lots of attention. You can see this broken down more in the upcoming section Top Performers by Engagement section. Here is a look at some of the performance numbers for the last week:
- Impressions: 517,953
- Engagements: 9,149
- Link clicks: 1,812
- Engagement Rate: 2.1%
