WordPress versions
The WordPress Versions page has been revamped to improve access to information and ease its maintenance.
Changes
- The version order has been changed from ascending to descending, so the newest versions now appear at the top of the list.
- Due to the size of the file, the page has been split into two pages:
- WordPress Versions – starting at 5.0, this page will continue to house future releases.
- WordPress Versions 0.7 to 4.9 – contains the oldest versions of WordPress, maintained for historical purposes.
The WordPress version changelog has also changed as of WordPress release 7.0: the list of wordpress packages is no longer specifically updated for each release. Instead, each release will include a note with more information where available.

The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. article advanced settings update
The Advanced Settings section on individual block pages now links to a page of shared advanced settings to improve maintainability. Block-specific settings will continue to appear on their respective block pages. See issue #2287.
