- As always, we continue to ask that everyone help with WordPress Social Media Amplification on the platforms of your choice.
We continue to promote FSE, Learn, Releases, etc.
- Specifically, this week, please share news of the new News design. This is launching in a week or so, and we want to let everyone know what to look forward to. Please see the links below to share within your networks for spreading the word.
- Along with the 5.9 release, I’d like to share that we are helping promote the Openverse project and the new WordPress Photo Directory. - The January edition has been postponed due to the changes in the release schedule, and is hoped to be out very soon.

- GitHub
- Part of our GitHub has moved over to the WordPress organization umbrella. Thanks to @abhanonstopnewsuk, @meher, @vimes1984, and @Chloé Bringmann who have been working on this. It has been a lot of work the last few weeks and with the new release overlapping. We needed to move some of the materials overdue to the release and Learn WordPress to avoid the links breaking.
- So bear with us as we work through the migration. Some of the combinations of the repos have not worked and this is being managed to resolve.
- We have a couple of issues that GitHub itself needs to assist with as some of our boards can not be updated in the new WordPress organization due to the new projects board GitHub is trialing.
- The training team is migrating to GitHub from Trello as well.
- The Docs team recently migrated from Trello to GitHub/are in the process of migrating.
- WordCamp EU 22
- The team has been asked for whether it will be able to support a marketing table at this year’s contributor day in WordCamp Europe in Porto, Portugal in June. Please share with the team if you will be attending contributor day.
- WP Diversity
- New events will be coming out and we will be updating the documents on how we support the WPDiversity team.

6. Team Rep Updates
- The Marketing Team is pleased to announce the new team reps for 2022:
- Nicholas Garofolo
- Nalini Thakor & Larissa Murillo in a role-shared position
- Larissa will fully take on her role in mid-February.
- Several incumbent team reps and long term contributos are working with the new team reps to transition responsibilities, and obtain access to tools and platforms.
- Celebration of the WordPress Marketing Team
- Once again, a big shoutout and thank you to @meher, @ogleckler, @webcommsat, @maedahbatool, @harryjackson1221, @yvettesonneveld for all they have done as team reps and far beyond. Thankfully, most of them will continue to share their expertise with our team and/or the WordPress project. (Thank you to the outgoing reps).
- We would like to mark the 9 years of this team and have invited all the contributors who have previously supported as team reps. This party will take place on February 17th at 15:00 UTC.
