In addition to individual translators and Project/General Translation Editors, we also have Locale Managers. Locale Managers do just that – manage their locale. That includes managing their local Rosetta site, appointing site contributor roles to other users for the locale site (Designer, Subscriber, Contributor, Author, Administrator, Editor, Locale Manager). A Locale Manager also has access to promote (or demote) translation editor roles, including General Translation Editor (GTE), although that task is usually handled by existing GTE.
A Locale Manager can also engage in many other activities to help promote collaboration within their community.
This section of the Handbook will cover tasks and responsibilities specific to those who are Locale Managers. If you’re considering making a request to become a locale manager for your locale, please begin with our General Expectations for Locale Managers.
