Props to @maharzan for suggesting that we start freshening up the featured content you see on the WordPress.tv homepage and on the WordCamp TV page. We are fortunate in that we all get a chance to see some great presentations, but we publish so much content now, that it’s getting lost in the stream of new videos. Let’s change that, by promoting videos that represent the best of what WordCamp has to offer!
New mod tag: FEATURE ME
Did you see a video that was really awesome, had great production values, and should get the attention of visitors to the site? Please add the mod tag of FEATURE ME so we know it should be featured on the home page. @maharzan and I will work to coordinate their publication, so we can keep this major feature of the site updated with the very best of WordCamp TV.
What should be our criteria? I’m thinking from a technical standpoint, all of these represent things we want to see in featured videos:
- Good video quality – Not dark, washed out, filmed from space, etc.
- Presentation slides – A link at least, but if the video shows them well (or even better, is intercut with still frames of slides) so much the better.
- Can hear the Q&A – this may not be a deal-breaker, but might need to be considered case-by-case.
- Anything else?
