Design Share #63 (Aug 26-Sep 6)

This is a bi-weekly update of work the design group contributed to. Work happens in overview issues, and in needs design, or needs design feedback issues.

If you have updates you’d like to include in the next Design Share, drop a note in the #design channel. If you have questions, you can also ask them there, or as a comment on this post.

Image Block: Surface autocomplete width options

Status: Needs feedback

For specific use cases, such as posting a screenshot that should be 2x density, or inserting smaller UI elements such as a PNG logo that should also be high density, it’s useful to see shortcuts to set fractions of the intrinsic dimensions of the image. Issue.

WP.org 2fa improvements

Status: In progress

A few options for how to list out security options in WordPress.org profiles. Issue.

Twenty Twenty-Five Patterns

Status: In progress

Patterns are being built out in the Twenty Twenty-Five theme, and section styles are being added too, to easily change the character of a section. If you’d like to contribute, please head over to the Twenty Twenty-Five GitHub.

Style Book in Classic/Hybrid Themes

Status: Needs feedback

Themes that don’t use block-based templates should be able to leverage some of the benefits the site editor and global styles can bring, such as color, typography, or preset styles, as well as the font library. Issue.

Five for the Future refresh

Status: In progress

After introducing a new design for all pages of Five for the Future, we revisited the homepage content and explored a new design that brings more brand to the section.

Lesson learning flows

Status: In progress

As part of the Learn redesign, we dedicated time to revisit the learning flows of Lessons and revamp the UI. Driven by the content needs and bugs reported during the last few days, we worked on a design that taps into existing components and improves the consistency with the WordPress.org site.
