- Lack of feedback from Calls for design
A few designers had a negative experience when callers for design never properly got back after designs were delivered. As a team, we feel the need to inform people who call for design how we’d like to proceed.
We’re opting on setting up a guide on how the design process takes place and what can be expected from the designers, but also what we expect from the one who calls for the design. @boemedia will start a draft in Google docs, and after iteration it will move over to the handbook so we can point to this document when someone calls for design.

The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/, etc. should be transferred to Inbox each week, along with any new cards that need to be acknowledged.
- Should a browser compatibility list be part of the design handbook or another handbook?
Most present at the meeting agree on moving this page to coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. and remove it from the design handbook. @melchoyce with take action on this.

WordCamp design templates on Design team
@Khleomix asks for a repo where she can download theme files to test locally. Since the WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They’re one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. themes are built on Twentyseventeen, those files can be downloaded from the theme directory, but unfortunately without the WordCamp tools. @melchoyce suggests @iandunn or @coreymckrill may know.

Requests to review existing tickets
Typically from Trac or GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged by the repository owner. https://github.com/

- Plan to handle bigger communication projects: next steps?
We decide on breaking down bigger projects into smaller tasks via checklists. This helps prioritise and get things done.
Priority 1 should be onboarding now. – so let’s think of things that need to be done for onboarding new design contributors. - We continue with a few other Trello cards that need to be broken down into smaller tasks to get things done, like:
- WordPress logo usage style guide for WordCamps
- Start looking into how we can reach communities outside WP
- Plan a new contributors buddy system
- Create a series of design workshops to use at contributor days
- Consider planning a “WordCamp for Designers.”
- Look at easy tools to improve processes on Design team
- Create a “Designer’s Guide to Contributing,” using easy setup tools like Folletto’s script, and MAMP
- Write a guide for calls for design
- Draft content for dashicons
- The card “Plan to handle bigger communication projects” now seems like a useful roadmap we can work from.
Final question by @boemedia about the Invision licenses. What’s the status? @karmatosed says we have it and she will write a post and explain how designers can get a license.
