Hey Team!

Our bi-monthly Community Team chat is happening this Thursday, 1 March 2018. Meeting times are 08:00 UTC and 20:00 UTC in #community-team on Slack – we use the same agenda for both meetings in order to include all time zones.

This site has enjoyed a lot of activity in the last few weeks, yay! There’s a lot we *could* talk about, but a few topics that folks have raised specifically for discussion, so this agenda will focus on those. As always, if you’d like to suggest a topic, please do so in the comments below!

Agenda

1. DeputyProgram Supporter Community Program Supporters (formerly Deputies) are a team of people worldwide who review WordCamp and Meetup applications, interview lead organizers, and keep things moving at WordCamp Central.    What have you been doing and how is it going?
2. Calls for volunteers:
   • Diversity Outreach Speaker Training working group
   • WordCamp Incubator co-lead organizers
   • Deputies who can send emails to dormant meetup groups
   • Meetup organizers to share ideas in the March organizer roundtable video chats
3. Proposals for discussion:
   • Proposal to simplify training of WordCamp mentors
   • Changing the time of the Community Team Chat
   • 2018 goals for the global community team
   • Should we add a contact form to the handbook for WCEU’s organizing team to receive requests from groups needing a promotional boost?
4. In Case You Missed It (ICYMI):
   • • We’re closing an old bank account.
     • Now there are self-serve reports about meetups, WordCamps, and finances.
     • There’s a new incident reporting method available for code of conduct issues.
     • we’re going to try using a Trello board for 3 months to see if we like it.
     • Metrics for WordCamps in 2016 and 2017 were published this week.
