- Table Leads for WordCamp Asia 2026
- The Accessibility Team is looking for Table Leads for WordCamp Asia 2026 Contributor Day.
- Contributor Day will take place on April 9, 2026, at the Jio World Convention Centre.
- We may consider having two table leads: one onsite and one supporting remotely.
- If you’re attending and willing to take on this role, please fill out the application form shared on slack channel. Feel free to ping @krupajnanda for more details.
- Remote support is also welcome.
- The test team has prepared the doc to help the featured covered in 7.0 release. Feel free to take the help from Help test WordPress 7.0 post.
Working Group Updates
The team removed most of the Accessibility Handbook content from the Make Accessibility site and replaced it with pointers linking to the new documentation. This change was made to avoid the need to maintain two separate sets of documentation. The remaining content focuses on information about how contributors can get involved and contribute to the Accessibility Team.
@joedolson shared many updates, with a few items still being worked on.
- Tickets that already have patches but have not yet been committed should ideally be either committed or punted within the week.
- Early testing of patches is highly valuable and helps move things forward more quickly. Overall, the project is in good shape, although there are still a few tickets that need to be completed.
@joedolson shared that Gutenberg has introduced many changes in this release, making testing during the beta phase especially important.
- The top priority should be testing the output of any new blocks, as those are the most difficult to modify after release, though there are also several new interfaces to review.
- Contributors are encouraged to explore the release features and test them thoroughly, including navigating without a mouse, checking control names, and enabling visible label features. General accessibility testing guidance is available, and since each feature may require a different approach, specific testing instructions may be provided when needed. Some features may already have their own testing instructions available.
So far no updates here.
Please note that the next meeting will take place at 15:00 UTC. The following two meetings will be scheduled at 19:00 UTC due to a timing conflict with the WordPress 7.0 release. After the release, we will return to our regular meeting time of 15:00 UTC. This change is temporary.
